London, as is well known, is the capital of the United Kingdom, situated for Great Britain in the south-east and also for England, but for Europe it is situated to the north-west
The British capital is famous for its historical landmarks, which tell the long history of the Kingdom, which is one of the most famous landmarks in the world.

Here are the top 7  London landmarks  :


1- The Palace of Westminster


     We have already talked about the Westminster Palace, which is the seat of the 
British government, but at the same time it is the most important landmark we find in the British capital .
In the northern part of the building we find the famous clock Ping Bang, which is the  most famous apparatus for measuring time.

2- Westminster Abbey


One of London's most famous landmark , the Westminster Abbey is characterized by Gothic architecture , is the place where the kings was crowned and buried.
The Abbey is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm and Wednesday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm ,  and is located west of Westminster Palace.  
3-Tower bridge 
Tower Bridge is a suspension and moving bridge in the British city of London that connects the two banks of the River Thames near the Tower of London, to which the bridge is attributed. 
The bridge was officially opened on June 30, 1894 by the Prince of Wales, King Edward VII, and his wife Princess of Wales Alexandra of Denmark  , and is considered as  the highest bridges of London.

4-St Paul's Cathedral

The current St. Paul's Cathedral in London, built 300 years ago, was rebuilt after the Great London Fire .
St. Paul's Cathedral has hosted many important events , most notably the Sir Winston Churchill funeral, the Jubilee celebrations of Queen Victoria , and the wedding ceremony of Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife Princess Diana.

 Visitors to the cathedral can climb to the top of the church building and enjoy a clear and wonderful view of London.

5-Tower of London




The Tower of London is a historic fortress located on the north bank of the Thames in London next to the Tower Bridge.
This old palace was used as the royal residence. In general, the tower is a collection of several buildings within two defensive walls and a moat. Several enlargements of the tower were carried out, especially in the reign of the kings Richard the Lionheart, Henry III and Edward I in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.


 6-London eye



The London Eye, the famous modern landmark ,  is distinguished by its engineering and design, with 32 closed capsules and air conditioning, each of which accommodates 25 people who can walk or sit on one of the existing seats.

It was first named as British Airways London Eye, then Merlin Entertainments London Eye, and then EDF Energy London Eye as of January 20, 2011, following a three-year partnership with EDF Energy as a sponsor1. Since mid-January 2015, it has become The Coca-Cola London Eyes.
7-Buckingham Palace


Buckingham Palace is the official residence of British kings. Located in London, it is a venue for events related to the British royal family, a venue for numerous meetings and visits by leaders of countries, in addition to being a major tourist attraction.
The palace is a tourist attraction and a focal point for the British people in moments of joy, crisis and trouble.
